The Almeida Theatre Announces New 2025 Season

Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ruth Wilson Set to Star

The Almeida Theatre, which boasts a notorious reputation for gripping productions, has recently disclosed its thrilling 2025 season lineup. Two highly anticipated productions lead the charge: "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "A Moon for the Misbegotten." Oscar-nominated actress Daisy Edgar-Jones will grace the stage as Maggie in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," while Tony and Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson will take on the iconic role of Josie Hogan in "A Moon for the Misbegotten."

Tennessee Williams' timeless masterpiece "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" explores the volatile relationships within a dysfunctional Southern family. Daisy Edgar-Jones, renowned for her captivating performance in "Normal People," brings her exceptional talent to the role of Maggie, a vibrant and determined young woman grappling with her husband's alcoholism and her family's suffocating expectations.

In Eugene O'Neill's "A Moon for the Misbegotten," Ruth Wilson, known for her critically acclaimed performances in "The Affair" and "Luther," will portray Josie Hogan, a complex and compassionate woman who falls deeply in love with a troubled farmer, played by Matthew Needham. The production promises to be a poignant and heart-wrenching exploration of unrequited love and the yearning for connection.

The Almeida Theatre's 2025 season also features a diverse range of other productions, including "The Merchant of Venice" starring Jonathan Pryce, "The Glass Menagerie" directed by Jeremy Herrin, and "The Book of Mormon." The theater's commitment to artistic excellence and thought-provoking productions continues to attract both critical acclaim and enthusiastic audiences.
