Jose Altuve Ejected For Removing Shoe And Sock While Arguing Non Call

Jose Altuve was ejected for removing shoe and sock while arguing non-call

Judge's ejection was the latest in a string of controversial calls in Astros' playoff games.

Umpire's explanation: Altuve was ejected for arguing balls and strikes and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was ejected from Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night after he removed his shoe and sock while arguing a non-call.

The incident occurred in the bottom of the first inning with the Astros trailing 1-0. Altuve hit a ground ball to White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, who threw to first baseman Jose Abreu for the out. Altuve argued that he was safe, and when first base umpire Nick Mahrlich did not overturn the call, Altuve removed his shoe and sock and threw them towards the mound.

Altuve was immediately ejected from the game, and the Astros went on to lose 9-4. The ejection was the latest in a string of controversial calls in the Astros' playoff games this season.
