Josh Bell Traded to Arizona Diamondbacks
Diamondbacks Acquire Slugger in Deal with Marlins
Hours before the trade deadline, the Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to add first baseman Josh Bell in a deal with the Miami Marlins.
Bell, a two-time All-Star, was placed on waivers by the Marlins earlier this week. He is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the Diamondbacks' offense, which has struggled this season.
In 82 games with the Marlins this season, Bell is batting .254 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs. He is a career .270 hitter with 117 home runs and 413 RBIs.
The Diamondbacks are currently in last place in the NL West with a record of 44-68. They are hoping that Bell's addition will help them make a run at a playoff berth.
